Montauk has no lack of hotels. In fact, most of the hotels on the beach are located right in town and walking distance to most things: restaurants, shops, grocery store and more. Montauk has one of the highest concentration of hotels on Long Island.

My Most Recommended Montauk Hotels on the Beach
1. Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa
Gurney’s Montauk is my top choice for Montauk hotels on the beach! If you are looking for luxury and gorgeous ocean views look no further than Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa.

Gurney’s is a 158 room, five star hotel located on a pristine stretch of beach (with private beach access) in Montauk, NY. A 5 minute drive outside of downtown, on the Old Montauk Highway, Gurney’s is the biggest resort in Montauk.
The resort includes a fully renovated (2022) full service seawater spa, multiple restaurants (including Scarpetta Beach), a beach club, cocktail lounge, fire pits, an indoor pool and so much more. If your idea of vacation in Montauk, New York is Rest and Relaxation you can definitely find that here!

2. Marram Montauk
Marram Montauk (formerly Atlantic Terrace Hotel) was fully renovated and updated in 2020 with a barefoot luxury vibe. Marram is one of my favorite oceanfront hotels in Montauk. The 96 room oceanfront hotel is located right on the beach so guests can expect to enjoy set up umbrellas and chairs out front each morning.

Alternatively, the Marram pool up on the deck has sweeping views of the beach and ocean in both directions. Mostrador Marram restaurant is on site and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in season. Their pastries are to die for!

3. Hero Beach Club
Hero Beach Club will be the first hotel you see when you drive into Montauk town. The only thing separating Hero and the beach is a large sand dune (& a small quiet street). So while the hotel is not directly on the beach, Hero does have direct beach access and sets up umbrellas and bean bag chairs daily.

Hero Beach Club also has a lovely pool and a great lawn where they host wellness and fitness classes daily. The hotel is located on the edge of town so you aren’t directly in the mix (which sounds great to me) but just a five minute walk or quick bike ride away!

– Few rooms with ocean view

4. Breakers Montauk
Breakers Montauk, a three star motel, is the most affordable option on my Montauk Hotels on the Beach list. Located on Old Montauk Highway, nestled between numerous condominiums, Breakers offers a unique old Montauk vibe.

Their 25 rooms are set up in numerous cottages that dot the sprawling lawn of the property. At the center is a pool, sun deck, bar and cafe. There is direct beach access across the street and down a small path that cuts through the sand dunes.

– Cottage layout
Cons:
– Not directly on beach
– Might want a car
– Minimal

More Hotels in Montauk on the Beach
There are numerous condominiums that are oceanfront in Montauk. However, every unit is individually owned and thus they are all decorated differently. Some may be updated and other units might not be.
Two other Montauk beach hotels, that won’t break the bank, are the Montauk Blue Hotel and the Royal Atlantic Beach Resort. These hotels are not my top choice of oceanfront hotels in Montauk but are a great choice if budget is your concern or if everywhere else is booked up!
