Best Hotels in Rincón

Best Boutique Hotel: Casa Isleña

Rating: 9/10 | Location: Puntas | Book here!

Casa Isleña is all around my favorite hotel and restaurant in Rincon. This 9 room oceanfront boutique hotel is nestled into the palms right on the beach.

All of their rooms are studio rooms with varying number of beds. Each room is uniquely decorated with a Caribbean chic style. Try to get a room with a balcony!

Not only are the grounds beautiful decorated with lush fauna and flowers but they have an oceanfront pool and my favorite restaurant in Rincon! Casa Isleña has an unreal brunch menu and a great dinner menu as well. They also have fresh juices daily which you can have with breakfast or choose to mix with your cocktail of choice at sunset!

Wake up to the sound of the ocean every morning, eat the best breakfast in town and spend your day on the beach right out front – sounds like perfection to me!

An added bonus is that if you’re a surfer or want to learn there are waves right out front!

Best Bed & Breakfast: Tres Sirenas

Rating: 9.5/10 | Location: Stella | Book here!

Tres Sirenas is a two story villa turned bed and breakfast with panoramic ocean views in Rincon. Located between Rincon town and the Corcega area of Rincon, Tres Sirenas offers five spacious apartment suits and deluxe oceanfront rooms all with private terraces.

This bohemian chic guesthouse offers a spacious outdoor common area with an oceanfront pool. And the beach is just steps away from the front door! Book Tres Sirenas if you want some rest and relaxation. Rincon town and surfing beaches are a close drive but you’ll be far enough away to get some peace and quiet.

The only downside is they do require a 5 night minimum which is quite a long stretch if you are just passing through or coming for a long weekend.

Best Resort: Rincon of the Sea’s

Rating: 8/10 | Location: Stella | Book here!

Rincon of the Seas is the kind of resort you think of when you think of the Caribbean. It is a horse shoe shaped resort with a large pool in the center complete with a swim up bar. The beach is also just steps away from the pool.

If you are someone used to staying in a resort setting this is the place for you. But I should say this isn’t a huge resort by any means!

The beach right out front is nice and calm and perfect for kids and those not comfortable in the ocean.

Best Oceanfront Hotel: Tres Palmas at La Cambija

Rating: 9.5/10 | Location: Ensenada | Book here!

Tres Palmas at La Cambija is a new boutique hotel right behind the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve. This means unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and those killer Rincon sunsets everyone loves!

The new beach-y chic hotel has comfortable rooms and also houses a restaurant by the same name and is one of the nicer and trendier restaurants in Rincon. I recommend making a reservation for sunset hour!

When staying at Tres Palmas by La Cambija you are also within walking distance to two of my favorite beaches in Rincon: Marias and Steps beach. The snorkeling at Steps is amazing and the waves at Maria’s are fun – you can even take a surf lesson here!

Best Luxury Hotel: Villas at the Horned Dorset

Rating: 9.8/10 | Location: | Book here!

This is as luxury as it gets on the west coast of Puerto Rico. The Horned Dorset is a former private home turned luxury boutique hotel.

The only thing about the Horned Dorset, aside from it’s price tag, is it is way out of town and away from most of the attractions that Rincon has to offer. Staying here would be the ultimate place to get away from it all.

Each of the seventeen suites have private plunge pools, marble bathrooms with soaking tubs and canopy beds. There is also a restaurant on site called Chateaux Rose.

Best Cheap(er) Hotel: Casa Verde

Rating: 8.5/10 | Location: Puntas | Book here!

Casa Verde Hotel is located one block back from Sandy Beach and in the Puntas neighborhood of Rincon. The rooms at Casa Verde are pretty standard and the hotel could use some updating. But you pay for what you get!

Next to Casa Verde there is a popular burger restaurant called Big Kahuna that also turns into a popular bar at night on the weekends. If you are worried about noise from the bar I would try and get a room farthest from Big Kahuna.

Within walking distance there are a bunch of great food options like Jake’s Java for coffee, Big Kahuna for burgers, Tamboo for oceanfront lunch and Casa Isleña for a killer brunch menu. Casa Verde is also just a 3 minute walk to Sandy Beach and 5 minutes to Pools Beach a popular surfing beach.

Puntas

The Puntas neighborhood is the most northern neighborhood of Rincon and is quite hilly! The area is comprised of a bunch of steep hills with houses and casitas nestled in with breathtaking ocean views! Sandy Beach is on this side of town and is one of my favorite beaches ever!

Puntas has a great neighborhood and choice of hotels and restaurants. Down by the beach the area is very walkable but be mindful of the hills they are no joke! This is one of my favorite areas of Rincon and it would be a great area to stay in for your vacation to Rincon.

Ensenada

Another favorite are of Rincon of mine – but I may be biased because this is where we hang out the most and live when we are there. Ensenada is a really residential area and there are only a few hotels.

There are lots of surf breaks like Maria’s as well as incredible snorkeling at Steps beach and a family friendly and good swimming beach at the Marina beach.

Rincón Pueblo

Rincon Pueblo is the area surrounding the town square. I wouldn’t really recommend to stay here on a vacation to Rincon. If you can, choose an area that is closer to the beach. Although, I will say town has really changed in the last 5 or so years and there are some great restaurants and shops in town.

Stella, Corcega & Beyond

So technically Stella and Corcega are not the same areas or neighborhoods but they are right next to one another and offer the same calm Caribbean waters. What makes Rincon unique is the farther you head south the calmer the ocean gets.

Stella and Corcega have super calm ocean water that is great for kids and people not comfortable in the ocean. There are small reefs just off shore you can snorkel to as well and the calm ocean water is great for paddle boarding!

There are a lot of amenities close by since both neighborhoods run along PR 115 where you can find grocery stores, laundromats, pharmacies and restaurants.

Best Hotels:

Pros:

  • Close to grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations ect.
  • Super calm water for swimming

Cons:

  • Not my favorite selection of restaurants but there are some good ones!

Restaurants:

  • Nacho Libre
  • Cowboys
  • Villa Cofresi
  • La Marea Foodtruck
  • Gastro Food Park
  • Baku Sushi

Beaches:

  • Corcega
  • Almendros

Conclusion

To conclude this guide on where to stay in Rincon my top choices would be Puntas and Ensenada. I would choose to stay in Stella or Corcega if you want to keep distance from the action and if you want super calm water.

My favorite hotels in Rincon are Casa Isleña and Tres Sirenas for small boutique hotel vibes right on the ocean. I hope this guide was helpful to you and please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or questions below!
